The Permit Licensing System has a client server architecture and has both a frontend and backend.
Frontend
In the frontend an applicant signs up, registers his/ her biodata then answers all the questions asked by the system, pays for the invoice generated by the system through Mpesa or bank transfer, for the permit he/she is applying for, reviews his/her application and submits. The system then automatically generates an application number for that particular permit application.
Backend
In the backend, the organization signs in to;
View the submitted applications, if the application meets the threshold, they forward to accounts department, if not they request the applicant to correct his/her application.
Confirm payment - Accounts department confirm the invoice generated for the permit has been paid for, if not they contact the applicant to make payment then forward the application to the licensing officer.
Issue permits - The licensing officer then generates the permit with a set of conditions and the system generates and attaches a QR to the permit and the licensing officers digital signature,
Finally, the system the emails the applicant a copy of the permit and also sends it to the applicants user account in the system for download.
